About This Place

Nestled in the heart of Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, Pipin's Pub is a standout destination that masterfully blends the warmth of an Irish restaurant with the lively spirit of a classic sports bar and brewpub. Since 1969, this local gem at 8814 3rd Ave has been delighting patrons with a menu that seamlessly marries comforting American classics with Irish soul, all delivered in a refreshed, modern setting that paradoxically feels both intimate and buzzing with energy.

Step inside and you’ll instantly notice the inviting ambiance: the front features a well-stocked bar, perfect for catching a game or enjoying a handcrafted cocktail, while the back dining area offers a cozy atmosphere ideal for savoring a meal with friends or family. The lighting does lean on the darker side, cultivating a sophisticated yet relaxed vibe, though a few have noted it could sometimes make reading the bill a bit challenging.

The culinary offerings at Pipin’s Pub are genuinely impressive and deeply satisfying. Their menu is an ode to hearty flavors and expert comfort food preparation. Start with their famously crispy Chicken Wings or indulge in the rich, velvety goodness of their French Onion Soup. For mains, the Black Angus Shell Steak and the Pipin's Pub Steak Sandwich stand out as must-tries, expertly grilled with tender, flavorful meat that melts in your mouth, complemented perfectly by the sautéed mushrooms and onions. The plethora of burger options—from the classic Beef Burger to the indulgent Blue Cheese Burger and the signature Pipin Burger topped with bacon and American cheese—has made this place a haven for burger aficionados. As one happy customer remarked, “One of the best burgers I’ve ever eaten. Staff was super sweet. Definitely will be coming back here.”

If you’re in the mood for something lighter, the fresh salads like the Gorgonzola Salad —combining baby field greens with sliced pears, candied walnuts, and the signature tang of gorgonzola cheese—offer a delightful balance of flavors and textures. The Ahi Tuna Salad also promises a fresh, vibrant experience for seafood lovers.

Pipin’s Pub also excels in its beverage selection. Their Bloody Mary has garnered devoted fans for its perfectly spiced, flavorful kick, while cocktail enthusiasts will appreciate classics like the White Russian. This synergy of great food and drinks amplifies the pub’s overall lively yet inviting atmosphere.

Customer experiences echo the quality and warmth that Pipin’s Pub aims to deliver. From praise about the generous and tasty wings—“Great wings, big, tasty and filling,” to commendations for the attentive service and reasonable prices, patrons keep coming back for both the food and the friendly local vibe. While one reviewer experienced a small hiccup with a waiter in a dimly lit environment, the overwhelming sentiment highlights Pipin’s as a reliable neighborhood staple that feels like a welcoming retreat from the city bustle.

Whether you’re craving a juicy burger, authentic Irish comfort dishes like Corned Beef and Fish & Chips, or simply want to enjoy a cold beer while cheering on your favorite team, Pipin's Pub offers a memorable experience that is as satisfying as it is unpretentious. It’s a place where each visit feels like coming home—offering both a feast for the palate and a friendly atmosphere that keeps you coming back time and again.

For a true taste of Brooklyn’s spirited culinary and social scene, Pipin’s Pub remains a top pick—inviting diners to savor every bite and every moment in a welcoming, authentically local setting.

Place looks more like fine dining than a bar/pub. Food was good, new look but a little dark. Waiter was a little rude, we paid in cash and he came running out to us saying we didn’t pay enough to realize he made a mistake because it was too dark and he couldn’t see the bill amount correctly! Thursday $10 wing deal

The bar/restaurant is located in the Bay Ridge section of Brooklyn since 1969. The current location is very modern. They prepare American cuisine. The front has a nice bar and several tables. The back has tables for dining in with servers. Soups, salads, sandwiches, wraps, entrees, burgers, desserts and beverages are available. I ordered the Pipin's cheeseburger deluxe that included french fries, pickle with lettuce and tomato upon request. The food was very good and well-prepared.

Nice pub restaurant snuggled up in Bay Ridge. Has more of an upscale pub feel near the entrance wmthen opens into a restaurant. Nice ambience and good lighting. Staff was attentive for lunch. One mistake with drink order was quickly fixed. Burgers were good. Medium rare was cooked nicely. Fries were decent. A little pricey hit 5hat is expected with the area and the look of the restaurant. I'd go back again.

This is not your everyday pub - very upscale - and completely unexpected. Great decor, great atmosphere, clean restrooms. The service is absolutely phenomenal and the prices are reasonable. They have different specials every night. Their burgers are great, juicy and cooked exactly as ordered - my only reservation is that I'd have loved to see "real" authentic cheddar in the burger not a cheese sauce . Would definitely eat here again.
